Rule of thumb. Living-room TV or box you use every day → Xtream Codes for the tidy guide. Quick test, an old player, or VLC on a laptop → M3U. You can always switch later without a new subscription.
How to switch between M3U and Xtream Codes
Because both are doors to the same account, switching is just re-entering your details in the app:
