IPTV no sound or audio out of sync? How to fix it
Two audio problems come up on IPTV: no sound at all, and audio out of sync (lip-sync off). Both are nearly always a codec or audio-output setting, not the stream itself. Work through the fixes below — most take a few seconds.
- No sound? Set audio output to PCM / Stereo — a Dolby/AC3 track your TV can't decode is the usual cause.
- Out of sync? Turn off audio passthrough and use the player's audio-offset control.
- Silent on one channel only? That's a source fault — tell us and we switch your feed.
No sound at all
- Switch the audio track — during playback, open the audio menu and try another track. Many channels carry two or more.
- Set audio output to PCM / Stereo — in the player’s settings. Silent audio is usually a Dolby/AC3 track your TV or box can’t decode; PCM/Stereo forces a compatible format.
- Check the obvious — volume, mute, and that the TV/soundbar is on the right HDMI input.
Audio out of sync (lip-sync off)
- Restart the stream — leave the channel and come back; a fresh start often re-syncs.
- Use the audio-offset / delay control — most players (TiviMate, Smarters, Kodi) let you shift audio by milliseconds until it lines up.
- Turn off audio passthrough — set the player and TV to PCM/Stereo rather than Dolby passthrough, which is a common cause of drift.
- Check your soundbar/TV — HDMI-ARC and some “sound modes” add their own delay; try the TV speakers to isolate it.
Still no sound on one channel only?
If every other channel is fine and only one is silent, that single feed may have an audio fault at source — report it and we’ll switch you to a working feed. With a reliable IPTV subscription, we fix stream-side faults for you.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my IPTV have no sound?
Most often the stream uses a Dolby/AC3 audio track your device or TV can’t decode, so it plays silent. Set your player’s audio output to PCM or Stereo, or switch to a different audio track — sound usually returns immediately.
Why is my IPTV audio out of sync?
Lip-sync drift is usually an audio passthrough or delay setting, or a soundbar/TV adding its own delay. Switch the audio track, set output to PCM/Stereo, and use your player’s audio-offset control to nudge it back in line.
How do I change the audio track on IPTV?
During playback, open the audio/subtitle menu in your player (TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, Kodi, etc.) and pick a different audio track. Many channels carry more than one, and switching often fixes both no-sound and sync issues.
If a channel's audio is faulty at source, message us and we'll switch you to a working feed — clean sound is part of a reliable IPTV subscription.
